Watch: Canadian Corey Conners sinks hole-in-one at Masters - Sportsnet.ca

Corey Conners' hunt for the top of the leaderboard at the Masters got a major boost on Saturday after the Listowel, Ont., native drained an ace on the 180-yard par-3 sixth hole at Augusta National.

The Canadian hit a draw with his tee shot that bounced twice before rolling into the cup. It's just the sixth time a hole-in-one was made on the sixth hole at the Masters.

He would follow up his ace with a birdie on hole seven, knocking down a 39-foot putt.

Conners continues to chase Justin Rose, who started the day at 7-under. He is also the second player to register a hole-in-one at this year's tournament after Tommy Fleetwood recorded one on the famed 16th hole on Thursday.

The 29-year-old Conners is looking to become the first Canadian golfer to win the Green Jacket since Mike Weir won the major tournament in 2003. He has made four appearances at the Masters with his best result coming in 2020, when he finished in a tie for fourth place.
