The Montreal Canadiens have placed Paul Byron on waivers for the second time on Tuesday.
Les Canadiens ont soumis l’attaquant Paul Byron au ballottage aujourd’hui afin qu’il se joigne à l’escouade de réserve de l’équipe.
The Canadiens have placed forward Paul Byron on waivers today so that he can join the team’s taxi squad.

This is the second time that Byron was placed on waivers. Since he has played 10 games since clearing waivers the previous time, the team needs him to clear waivers to keep getting the flexibility that comes with putting him on the taxi squad.
Byron has missed one game as a healthy scratch this season. He has two goals and five assists in 27 games this season, playing mostly on the fourth line with Jake Evans and either Corey Perry and Artturi Lehkonen.
Lately, Lehkonen has been the odd man out as a healthy scratch in most games under Dominique Ducharme.
If Byron clears waivers, he will be assigned to the team’s taxi squad where they save just over $1 million of his cap hit prorated per day.
If Byron is claimed, the team would be off the hook for his remaining cap hit.
