Kyle Lowry offers, Norman Powell suitors and Masai Ujiri: Toronto Raptors trade deadline mailbag - The Athletic

There are a lot of questions around the Toronto Raptors right now and — until Thursday at 3 p.m. ET — not a lot of answers. The next two days will be filled with rumblings, reports, rumours and, eventually, some trades. It’s transaction season, traditionally one of the more fun segments on the NBA calendar.

Things feel less exciting this time around. That’s not to say there won’t be moves. There might be dramatic, franchise-altering ones. But with the Raptors losing nine in a row to fall nine games under .500, those moves would likely be as a seller, folding on a lost season with an eye toward fortifying the roster for 2021-22 and beyond. That might require amicably ushering out the Kyle Lowry era or making a somewhat rare move for this front office and selling high on Norman Powell. If the Raptors add, hoping to strengthen their chances of a play-in game run and first-round upset, it will be modest.
