Another chapter will be written tonight in the Canada-Russia rivalry when the two hockey powers tangle in the semi-finals at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton.
Canada advanced with a solid 3-0 win over the Czech Republic while Russia managed to fend off a resilient German squad with a tight 2-1 victory.
St. John’s native Alex Newhook missed Saturday night’s game with an upper-body injury. It remains unclear if he’ll be back in the lineup tonight.
Game time for the Canada-Russia game is 7:30 p.m. Newfoundland time.
The United States and Finland square off in the other semi-final at 11:00 p.m.
