The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Ross Stripling on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.
Stripling was pulled early from his start against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night with an apparent injury. The Blue Jays went on to win the game 4-0.
The 31-year-old has posted a 5-6 record with a 4.34 ERA, 1.221 WHIP and 91 strikeouts in 93.1 innings of work this season.
Right-hander Trent Thornton has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move and will be active for Wednesday night's game against the Angels.
Thornton, 27, has a 1-3 record with a 4.69 ERA, 1.388 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 40.1 innings of work.
The Blue Jays also selected right-hander Connor Overton to the Major League roster and he'll be active for tonight’s game as well. Pitcher Patrick Murphy has been designated for assignment as a result.
