It was not only the actress Elisabeth Moss who got to wear the red cape and white bonnet when she starred in the TV adapation of The Handmaid’s Tale.
Ethel, one of her two cats, had a special feline version of the iconic outfit made for her too.
During the filming of series two, the show’s costumer designer Ane Crabtree said she took it upon herself to come up with a way to “keep the crew going” because “we all just needed a good laugh”.
The Handmaid’s Tale has a relentlessly bleak plot about a dystopian world in which women are child-bearing slaves.
