Archie Harrison was the star of the show on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s third day of touring South Africa on Sept. 25, and it appears no one was more smitten than Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

During a visit with the four-month-old, Desmond presented the tiny tot and Prince Harryand Duchess Meghan with a basket of items honouring their visit. The Sussex family receied traditional South African beaded bracelets, portable lap desks from the TuTu Desk Campaign, which provides desks to poor children, and children's books he had written (one was signed by himself and the Dalai Lama). The package also included a very sweet gift for Harry: Framed images of his mother Princess Diana meeting late former South African President Nelson Mandela in Cape Town in 1997.

The gifts were among the many Archie has received during his time in Africa already.

At an event on Sept. 23 hosted by The Justice Desk, an organization that teaches children about their rights and self-awareness and safety, the royal infant received a framed inscription of his traditional Xhosa name (Ntsika, meaning “pillar of strength”). He also got a pint-sized black and white rugby sweater emblazoned with the words “Be A Voice For Justice.” The shirts are sold by The Justice Desk online and retail for $35.

A video shared to social media by HELLO UK ’s royal correspondent Emily Nash captured the presentation. It shows Meghan and Harry beaming as they accepted the presents.
“When your beautiful boy was born, you gave him the name Archie,” said Jessica Dewhurst, who works with The Justice Desk, as she presented the couple with the gifts. “The name Archie means ‘bravery and strength.’ So to welcome Archie home, your family at The Justice Desk has given him the traditional South African name Ntsika. This name of Xhosa African origin means ‘pillar of strength.’ May you always be a pillar of strength for those who need you.”

The trio will return to the UK with many memorable items from this tour, but they will also be leaving some things behind.
On Sept. 25, Meghan donated some of Archie’s used clothing and other gifts to babies and parents being supported by the mothers2mothers project. It trains and employs women living with HIV as frontline health workers across eight African nations. The 38-year-old also brought some items from her closest friends, who have had children of their own.
“The Duke and Duchess were inundated with gifts for baby Archie from organizations and the general public,” a source told HELLO! UK . “They were incredibly grateful but one little baby can only wear so many clothes and he’s growing fast! So the Duchess decided to being a number of his presents to re-gift them to South African children and families most in need.”
