The Toronto Raptors will not have any coaches on the sidelines for tonight’s game due to what the team calls “health and safety protocols.”
The team says in a statement that head coach Nick Nurse and five members of his staff will not be on the bench for Friday’s game against the Houston Rockets and that they will “continue to work remotely.”
There is no confirmation yet if any of the coaching staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. General manager Bobby Webster is scheduled to speak to the media at 5:45 p.m.
While players have missed games due to health and safety protocols this season, the Raptors have not had any games postponed or rescheduled due to coronavirus.
Toronto enters Friday’s game against the Rockets with a 16-17 record and is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference.
Due to the Canada-U.S. border restrictions, the Raptors are playing this season in Tampa Bay.
