WATCH: Novak Djokovic Returns to ‘Joker Ways’ During Exhibition - Essentially Sports

World Number one Novak Djokovic is back in action in his home country of Serbia and excited his compatriots with a new event called Adria Tour amid the coronavirus pandemic. As always the Serb played some smooth tennis and defeated his friend and tennis professional Victor Troicki.

In the middle of the match, the joker of the ATP Tour Novak came up with a heartfelt moment. He made a ball kid’s day by hitting a few balls against him.

The little boy confidently took the receiving stance on the baseline and returned Novak’s serve with a forehand. With the Serbian ace dropping a short ball on the net, the kid sprinted and won the point by chipping a forehand.

The little was amused to hit some balls and win a point against the 17-time Grand Slam Djokovic. Later, he also received a hug from the Serbian star.

A packed crowd from Serbia turned up to see some LIVE tennis action. “It’s definitely different circumstances. We all can feel that, even though we have different measures in Serbia than the United States, for example, or the UK. So it’s very difficult to speak about international standards. What is the international standard? Nobody knows, really,” Djokovic said.

Through this event, Novak is trying to bring some positivity during these negative times. And fortunately, his country is doing well with the coronavirus cases when compared to the situation in the world outside.

“So it’s more a regional approach to see which countries allow these kinds of events to happen in front of crowds, because they’ve been dealing with better numbers, maybe compared to some other countries. And in the region here, we’ve had pretty decent success with the coronavirus,” he added.

Also, Novak played some tennis with the former WTA player Jelena Jankovic and they spent some joyful time on Friday.

Meanwhile, at Adria Tour, Alexander Zverev came back from 0-4, 0-2, 0-30 to beat Krajinovic 0-4, 4-3(5), 4-3(2). The German ace committed a total of 13 doubles faults.
