Canucks fall to Coyotes in OT, lose ground in Pacific - NHL.com

Guenther, who turned 21 on Wednesday, had a goal and three assists, and Cooley and Vladislav Kolyachonok each had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes (34-40-5), who were coming off a 5-0 loss at the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. Ingram made 23 saves.

“We didn't perform the way we wanted to [in Seattle],” Cooley said. “It just comes back to being resilient, sticking together, coming in against a Vancouver team like that and playing the way we did. It's special.”

Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson scored in the third, and Arturs Silovs made 14 saves for Vancouver (48-22-9), which has lost five of its past eight games (3-4-1).

“We showed that when we're skating, they can't really keep up with us,” Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy said. “Unfortunately, we waited until it was too late.”

Vancouver leads the Edmonton Oilers, who defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-1 on Wednesday, by four points for first in the Pacific. Edmonton, which hosts the Coyotes on Friday and the Canucks on Saturday, has two games in hand.

“Obviously, the way we played today wasn’t playoff hockey and wasn’t good enough,” said forward Elias Lindholm, who returned after missing seven games because of a wrist injury. “And obviously we have three more games to put ourselves in a good spot and feel good about our game and get some confidence. We’re going to play some good teams, so it’s going to be a big stretch for us here.”
