Montreal Canadiens forward Phillip Danault suffered a concussion during Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to head coach Dominique Ducharme.
Danault, who has been playing through other injuries, left Thursday's 5-2 loss in the first period. The 28-year-old has five goals and 19 assists through 52 games this season.
The 24-20-9 Canadiens sit fourth in the North Division heading into Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs, and can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Toronto and an Edmonton Oilers win over the Vancouver Canucks in the late Hockey Night in Canada game.
Puck drop between the Canadiens and Leafs is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
