Reports: NFL rescheduling Bills-Titans, Patriots-Broncos games - Sportsnet.ca

The NFL is reportedly rescheduling a pair of Week 5 games due to COVID-19.

Sunday’s game between the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills has been moved to Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, but will reportedly only go ahead if there are no more positive COVID-19 tests in the Titans organization.

As a result, per Schefter, the NFL is also pushing the Bills’ Week 6 Thursday night game in Buffalo against the Kansas City Chiefs to that Sunday. However, if this week’s Bills-Titans game can’t be played, Bills-Chiefs will go ahead as previously scheduled.

The league has also moved the Week 5 game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos to Monday night, according to Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News, marking the second-straight week New England will be part of a Monday night doubleheader due to the novel coronavirus.

The Patriots-Broncos game will reportedly kick off at 5:05 p.m. ET.

The Patriots have had three positive cases of COVID-19 among players within the past week, including quarterback Cam Newton and reigning defensive player of the year Stephon Gilmore, but did not have any tests come back positive on Thursday.

The outbreak of COVID-19 within the Titans organization had reached 23 cases as of Thursday. Tennessee’s facilities remain closed to the team and players have been told not to gather for any in-person activities, according to The Associated Press.
