Another man has tried and another man has failed to knock Khabib Nurmagomedov from the ranks of the unbeaten.
The lightweight champion defended his title, became undisputed once again and ran his undefeated record to 29-0 with a victory over interim champion Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 254 on Saturday.
The 32-year-old locked in a triangle submission on Gaethje in the second round and choked him out to bring the highly-anticipated fight to an end.
Nurmagomedov's UFC winning streak now sits at 13 fights, the longest active streak in the promotion.
This is the Dagestan-born fighter's third successful title defence after wins over Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.
Following his victory, Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from MMA.
