Oilers, Kyle Turris agree to terms on two-year contract - Sportsnet.ca

The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with forward Kyle Turris on a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $1.65 million.

Turris, 31, was bought out by the Nashville Predators earlier this week. He had four seasons remaining on the six-year, $36-million extension he signed back in November 2017 upon landing with the club via trade from the Ottawa Senators. After putting up strong numbers in Ottawa, including three seasons with 20-plus goals and more than 50 points each, Turris struggled in Nashville and never really managed to find his game. In 182 games across three seasons with the Predators, Turris tallied just 29 goals and 96 points while playing mostly on the wing.

Now, in Edmonton, the centreman has the opportunity to join a high-powered offence as part of its second wave of scoring behind stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl or could great benefit from playing alongside either one as a winger, making him a strong candidate for a rebound season.
