Smollett slams guru who compared him to girl who made up dreadlocks tale - Toronto Sun

Disgraced Empire star Jussie Smollett has his knickers in a knot once again.

The actor is slamming social media critics who likened him to a U.S. teen who concocted a story that she was pinned down and her dreadlocks cut off by white classmates.

Smollett was reacting to self-help guru Derrick Jackson’s Instagram comment regarding Amari Allen who made the dreadlocks allegation.

The actor sniffed that he hasn’t lied and that he was the victim of a racial and homophobic assault in Chicago.

Whoops! Amari Allen’s family has revealed that her story about being held down by racist white boys and them cutting her dreadlocks is a hoax. SCREENGRAB

Smollett’s claims were obliterated by Chicago detectives who concluded Smollett orchestrated the “assault” for a bigger payday on Empire and a juicier part.

But his politically well-connected family got the fibber off the hook. Still, he was canned from Empire.

Jackson wrote of Allen’s claims: “Jussie really is a trendsetter.”

Smollett then replied around an hour later: “With all due respect brother, y’all can clown me all you want but my story has actually never changed and I haven’t lied about a thing.”

He added: “Y’all can continue to be misinformed, internalized sheep, who believe what actual proven liars feed you or you can read the actual docs. Either way, Imma be alright. I know me and what happened. You don’t. So carry on. All love.”

Taking a page from the Smollett handbook, Amari Allen claimed the boys said her hair was “ugly” and “nappy,” a racist term used to describe Black women’s hair.

Allen’s family went public on Monday and said the haircutting attack was a hoax.

Her family asked for forgiveness and said they had “betrayed the wider community.”

“To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused,” the family said in a statement, saying they hoped the community would “forgive us in time”.

“To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust.”
