Ticats fans charged in clash with Argos players caught on video after Sunday’s East final - Toronto Star

Toronto police have laid trespassing charges after an altercation between fans and two Argonauts players following Sunday’s CFL East Division final at BMO Field in Toronto.

Part of the incident was caught on video, posted on 6ixbuzztv Instagram, and apparently shot after the Hamilton Tiger-Cats beat Toronto 27-19 to advance to next weekend’s Grey Cup.

It appeared to show Argos defensive back Chris Edwards taking a swing at a fan, and receiver Dejon Brissett giving him a shove before venue security intervene.

It appeared the fan shoved the Argos player first in the video.

A CFL spokesperson said the league is aware of the incident and is reviewing it.

Toronto police are also investigating the fight.

“At the end of the game, two men allegedly jumped a barricade and were attempting to fight with players,” said Const. Edward Parks in an email to the Star.

“Officers and security quickly intervened and both men are alleged to have been assaultive with staff and police.”

Toronto police say the individuals were charged with trespassing and removed from the facility, and because this is an going investigation, additional charges can be laid at a later date.
