Blue Jays draft pitcher Nick Frasso with fourth-round pick - Sportsnet.ca

The Toronto Blue Jays continued to prioritize college pitching in the fourth round of the 2020 MLB Draft, selecting right-hander Nick Frasso from Loyola Marymount University with the 106th pick.

Frasso, 21, was the third college arm taken by Toronto, following in the footsteps of CJ Van Eyk in the second round and Trent Palmer in the third.

In his two NCAA starts in 2020, Frasso surrendered four earned runs in 8.2 innings. He registered a 2.22 ERA in 19 appearances (five starts) for Loyola Marymount in 2019 with 10 saves and an 11.6 K/9 rate.

The 6-foot-5 hurler’s best pitch is his fastball, which can hit 97 m.p.h. He complements it with a curveball and the occasional change-up, per MLB.com.
