The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Cody Ceci to a four-year contract worth $13 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Ceci, who spent last season as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, appeared in 53 regular-season games during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring four goals and 13 assists. He played in six playoff games as well, adding a pair of assists.
The 27-year-old led all Penguins defenders last season with 70 blocked shots, and ranked second in hits while playing an average of 18:31 per game.
Originally a first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators during the 2012 draft, Ceci spent six seasons with his hometown team before a one-season stop with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
