LeBron James has agreed to a two-year, $85-million maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The future Hall of Famer led the Lakers to their first title in a decade last season, earning his fourth Finals MVP honour as Los Angeles dispatched the Miami Heat in six games.
James left his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers, for the second time, signing with the Lakers as a free agent in the summer of 2018.
The soon-to-be 36-year-old is one of the most decorated players in NBA history, and arguably the greatest of all time, having won four titles and four MVPs, and been named to 16 all-star squads and six all-defence teams since he was drafted by the Cavaliers with the top pick in the 2003 draft.
