No problem — even if the barber who usually comes to Yankee Stadium wasn’t available.
Davey Castillo, who owns Davey Cuts on Broadway in the Riverdale section of The Bronx, was called by his friend, Robbie Cucuzza, the Yankees’ equipment manager, and went to the Mandarin Oriental in Manhattan.
“He looks good, his wife is happy. He got a nice, hot-towel shave to get him on his Yankee way,’’ the 41-year-old Castillo told The Post on Wednesday evening about his work on Cole.
Cole wasn’t the first Yankee to sit for Castillo. Several players, including Aaron Judge, have been to his shop and he has made house calls to others.
“I experienced razor burn for the first time,’’ Cole said of the shave.
As Aaron Boone presented Cole with a No. 45 jersey, the manager said of his new ace: “Cleans up pretty well, doesn’t he,’’ Boone said.
