Reports are emerging of a horrific homicide at the California home of actor Ron Ely, best known for playing the title role in TV series “Tarzan” from 1966-’68.
According to CNN, police arrived at the scene of the 81-year-old actor’s Santa Barbara home Tuesday night, responding to a 911 call about family dispute.
When officers arrived at approximately 8:15 p.m., said the sheriff’s office, Eli’s wife, Valerie Ely, was found dead from multiple stab wounds.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ely identified a family member as the person who stabbed his wife; officers searched the surrounding area and found Cameron Ely, 30, the actor’s son.

After confronting Cameron Ely outside the home, officers determined that he “posed a threat and in response four deputies fired their service weapons at the suspect, fatally wounding him.”
None of the deputies were injured in the confrontation, while Associated Press stated there was “no report” that Ely had been injured.
In addition to “Tarzan”, Ely also starred in the feature film “Doc Savage: Man of Bronze”, along with TV guest spots in such series as “Wonder Woman”, “The Love Boat” and “Fantasy Island”.
