Reports: Kevin Durant plans to sign four-year deal with Nets - NBA.com

Kevin Durant is apparently planning to be on the move once again.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Brooklyn Nets have reportedly secured Durant's services for the next four seasons. The Golden State Warriors' standout forward will reportedly sign a four-year, $142 million deal with Brooklyn and is expected to team with another star in former Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.

Additionally, Wojnarowski reports the Nets are also expected to sign veteran center DeAndre Jordan. Durant is expected to make a formal announcement about his future on his company-owned sports-business network, "the Boardroom," at 6 p.m. ET.

On Saturday night, news broke that Irving and the Nets were moving toward a max deal that would pay the All-Star guard $141 million over four seasons. Charania reports Irving is planning to soon meet with the Nets to finalize the deal, which will include a fourth-year player option. Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to be part of the Nets' pitch to Irving tonight, Charania reports.

In a smaller move Sunday before the reported Durant news, the Nets also were expected to sign veteran defensive specialist Garrett Temple to a two-year deal, per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

It wasn't expected to take long for Durant to announce his intentions as Wojnarowski reported earlier Sunday that Durant was expected to announce his choice of team via "the Boardroom."

Back in 2016, Durant was in a somewhat similar state as he was deciding which team to go to next. That summer, he announced his decision to go from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Golden State Warriors via a post on The Players Tribune on July 4

The former two-time Finals MVP and Kia MVP winner entered the offseason as perhaps the biggest name on the market alongside the Boston Celtics' Kyrie Irving, the Toronto Raptors' Kawhi Leonard and Durant's Warriors teammate, Klay Thompson. He was long been expected to draw interest on the open market from a number of teams with salary cap room.

Durant suffered a ruptured right Achilles in Game 5 of The Finals and the timetable for his return date is unknown. He got hurt on a dribble on the right wing, coming up lame on a crossover move and falling to the floor. He grabbed the back of his leg, appeared to grab below the calf and more toward the Achilles area, and needed help to limp to the bench area and more help to get back to the Warriors' locker room. Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was on Durant's left side as they made the long walk back to the room, with Warriors GM Bob Myers and Curry in the group immediately behind them.

Kevin Durant is perhaps the biggest free-agent target in 2019.

Players have made comebacks off Achilles surgery, with relative levels of success.

This is Durant's first serious injury since the 2014-15 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, when a fracture in his right foot ultimately limited him to 27 games. In October of 2014, he suffered a "Jones fracture" in his foot and had surgery that sidelined him until December of that year. He played off and on for the next two months before he was shut down for the season to have a third surgery on the fractured bone in his foot.

Since joining the Warriors in the summer of 2016, Durant has been mostly healthy. He missed 19 straight games in his first season with Golden State because of a strained MCL in his left knee. He missed two first-round playoff games in 2017 as well because of a strained left calf muscle, but was healthy the rest of the way en route to his first Finals MVP honors and first NBA championship.

This season, Durant averaged 26 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. In the playoffs, he averaged 32.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 4.5 apg and 1 bpg.

Horford, Kings have mutual interest, per reports

Al Horford is one of the top free-agent big men available this summer and is expected to be an unrestricted one at that after he reportedly declined his option with the Boston Celtics. That move made Horford one of the surprising names in the free-agent pool this summer and it appears the Sacramento Kings are very interested in him.

Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports via Twitter that the Kings are expected to make a "massive offer" to Horford once free agency opens up at 6:01 p.m. Here's more from Anderson:

A league source told The Sacramento Bee on Sunday morning the Kings are expected to make a massive offer to free-agent center Al Horford when free agency begins at 3 p.m., and there is mutual interest on both sides. Horford is attracting interest from a number of teams around the league but was not scheduled to hold any meetings Sunday, the source said.

The Kings are indeed interested in Horford, reports Marc Stein of The New York Times and Sacramento has the cap space to give Horford the kind of deal he is seeking

A confirmed Al Horford suitor at last' The Kings "definitely" have significant interest in Horford, according to sources briefed on Sacramento's thinking -- and have the cap space to pay Al the reported four-year deal worth in excess of $100 million circulating for the past week

However, despite a potential massive payday looming for Horford from the Kings, it may not lead to him actually landing in Sacramento. Sam Amick of The Athletic reports the Kings are under the impression Horford will still head elsewhere this summer. Amick also reports that the Philadelphia 76ers have interest in Horford.

Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports via Twitter that Horford is expected to meet with some teams tonight and make a decision on his future by Monday or Tuesday. It appears that Horford has no meetings scheduled with any teams as of now, reports Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.

A five-time All-Star, the 33-year-old Horford has carved out a reputation in the NBA as one of the most reliable and skilled big men around. Although he has made only one All-NBA team in his career (2010-11) and one All-Defensive team (2017-18), Horford consistently displays versatility as both a scorer and a reliable defender, no matter what team he is on.

Reports: Melli, Pelicans nearing deal

The New Orleans Pelicans' offseason roster renovation began with the reported trade of All-Star big man Anthony Davis. Then, it entered its next phase with the drafting of Zion Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 draft.

It is apparently continuing as the Pelicans are close to finalizing a two-year deal with EuroLeague star Nicolo Melli, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski via Twitter:

EuroLeague power forward Nicolo Melli is finalizing a two-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell ESPN. Melli, 28, was the top scorer in the EuroLeague Finals for Fenerbahce last season.

Andrew Lopez of The Times-Picayune also confirmed the move.

Last season, Melli averaged 7.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during the season, but upped those marks to 8 ppg and 4.5 rpg in the EuroLeague Final Four.

-- 12:31 p.m.

 Rubio-to-Indiana a 'virtual done deal'

Veteran point guard Ricky Rubio is among the more reliable options for teams in search of a playmaker in 2019-20. Rubio, who was the Utah Jazz's starter the last two seasons, is on the open market after the Jazz reportedly pulled off a trade for Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley on June 19.

The Indiana Pacers were point guard shopping this summer, what with Darren Collison and Cory Joseph -- their top two point guards from last season -- being free agents. The news of Collison's retirement from the NBA on Saturday may have sped up Indiana's need to fill that spot and it appears Rubio will be the man for the job.

Per The New York Times' Marc Stein, a deal between Rubio and the Pacers has been thought of as a "virtual done deal" in NBA circles for a week now. Here's more from Stein via Twitter:

Talk of Ricky Rubio and a "virtual done deal" with Indiana has been circulating for a week. That's another one many teams have circled as a likely Day 1 verbal agreement after the opening bell sounds at 6 PM Eastern

An eight-year NBA veteran, Rubio averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 68 games with Utah last season. Overall, he has averaged 11.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 7.7 apg and 1.1 spg in his NBA career.

Reports: Mavs plan to offer Powell contract extension

Dallas Mavericks big man Dwight Powell has steadily grown into a capable rotation player in his 4 1/2 seasons with the team. A free agent this summer, Powell is reportedly not straying from the team he has developed the most with.

Per Marc Stein of The New York Times and Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Powell will receive a contract extension from the Mavericks on Sunday night. Here's more from Stein, via Twitter:

The Mavericks intend to present their long-planned contract extension to Dwight Powell -- three years, $33 million -- when free agency opens after 6 PM tonight, league sources say, with the sides expected to swiftly agree to terms.

Dallas has made it clear since the season ended that re-signing Dwight Powell to an extension was among its highest off-season priorities along with securing Kristaps Porzingis' commitment on a five-year, $158 million deal that will also happen formally later tonight.

Last season, Powell averaged 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 77 games for Dallas.

Reports: Irving, Nets moving toward deal

The Brooklyn Nets are trying to secure a point guard of the future and perhaps more once free agency opens, it seems.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets are moving toward a max deal that would pay the All-Star Irving $141 million over four seasons. Not only that, but adding Irving is part of a two-fold plan to by the Nets to also attempt to secure All-NBA forward and former Finals MVP Kevin Durant, Wojnarowski reports.

Per Wojnarowski, Durant is interested in the Nets and is expected to speak with them this week. Wojnarowski isn't the only one reporting a seeming Irving-Nets bond on the horizon as Greg Logan of Newsday also reports multiple NBA sources are calling Irving's move to Brooklyn a "virtual certainty". Logan also reports the Nets are planning to talk with Durant, too.

Clippers in mix for Durant, Leonard

News dropped yesterday that Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard are reportedly interested in teaming up for next season. Durant has reportedly said he'll consider four teams: the New York Knicks, LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets. Leonard, meanwhile, has reportedly asked to talk with Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson in a meeting with the Lakers, and has reportedly stated that the incumbent Toronto Raptors would get the last pitch for his services.

Per Andrew Grief of the Los Angeles Times, the Clippers are definitely in the mix for both players -- but finding out when Leonard and/or Durant will make their decision in free agency is anyone's guess:

Though the leanings of Leonard and Durant remain inscrutable to what sources across the league have called a remarkable degree, this much is known as the curtain rises on free agency at 3 p.m. PDT Sunday: The Clippers remain a potential destination for both, with each star expected to grant the team an audience during the upcoming week.

With the 2020 free agency class not nearly as loaded as the one this summer, the Clippers are hoping to land a superstar now to jump-start their plan of building a long-term championship contender.

Durant, the former two-time Finals MVP and Kia MVP winner entered the offseason as perhaps the biggest name on the market alongside Kyrie Irving, Leonard and Durant's Warriors teammate, Klay Thompson. He was long been expected to draw interest on the open market from a number of teams with salary cap room.

Per Grief, the Clippers have a variety of faces Durant would find familiar in GM Michael Winger and assistant coach Rex Kalamian (who were with Durant in Oklahoma City for multiple seasons) as well as Jerry West (now a Clippers executive after being in Golden State with Durant).

In order to land Durant and Leonard, the Clippers would need to open up more salary cap space. One such move could be to trade Danilo Gallinari, who will make $22.6 million next season.

Mavs reportedly plan to give Harris offer sheet

Kemba Walker was, at times, reportedly one of the top targets on the Dallas Mavericks' free-agent radar. But with Walker seemingly set to ink a deal with the Boston Celtics later today, that option is apparently off the table for the Mavs.

That doesn't mean the Mavs will be quiet in free agency as they plan to make an offer to a big free agent this summer in Tobias Harris. However, as Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News reports, the Mavs are expecting the Sixers to pay more to keep Harris in the fold:

When the NBA free agency doors fling open at 5 p.m. Sunday, the Mavericks, from all indications, won't be in front of the line for any of the top-tier unrestricted free agents.

A league source said on Saturday that the Mavericks plan to submit a less-than-maximum offer for Philadelphia forward Tobias Harris, but the source added that Dallas fully expects the Sixers to "back up the truck" and keep Harris with a maximum contract.

Harris was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers at midseason in 2018-19 and he was solid there, averaging 18.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27 games. Overall, he averaged 20 ppg, 7.9 rpg and 2.8 apg last season, which he split between the 76ers and LA Clippers.

Townsend reports the Mavs are expected to formalize a five-year, $158 million deal with Kristaps Porzingis. Additionally, the Mavs remain interested in Patrick Beverley, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Report: Several teams interested in Rozier

The Boston Celtics had not one, but two, point guards that were certain to draw interest in free agency this summer. While Kyrie Irving may already be lining up a new home for 2019-20, his understudy in Boston is fielding interest from a throng of teams.

Guard Terry Rozier has potential suitors in the Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks, per Ian Begley of SNY.tv:

New York also has strong interest in Terry Rozier, but the club has competition. SNY sources confirm that Charlotte and Phoenix also have interest in Rozier. That interest, which was first reported by The Athletic and the Charlotte Observer, respectively, could complicate the Knicks' pursuit of Rozier. Several teams with interest in Rozier believed on Saturday night that Phoenix was in a solid position to land the guard.

Rozier was a playoff hero for the Celtics in their run to the 2018 Eastern Conference finals, filling in admirably for Boston once Irving was lost for that playoff run because of knee surgery. Rozier started all 19 of Boston's 2018 playoff games, averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists as the Celtics came within a win of reaching The Finals. However, he struggled last season, averaging 9 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 2.9 apg (after averaging 11.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 2.9 apg in 2017-18) and averaged 6.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 1.9 apg in the postseason.

Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports the Celtics have yet to rescind the qualifying offer to Rozier and that the Dallas Mavericks, Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic are also interested in Rozier.

Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports via Twitter that the Kings are expected to make a "massive offer" to Horford once free agency opens up at 6:01 p.m. Here's more from Anderson:

A well-placed league source tells The Sacramento Bee the Kings are expected to make a massive offer to Al Horford when free agency begins at 3 p.m. PDT, and there is mutual interest on both sides. I'm told Horford's camp has not scheduled meetings with any teams today.

Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports via Twitter that Horford is expected to meet with some teams tonight and make a decision on his future by Monday or Tuesday.

Horford's scoring actually went up last season -- to 13.6 points per game -- after a bit of a downturn in 2017-18 (12.9 ppg). Although not regarded as a major shot-blocking force, Horford logged 86 blocks last season. That marked the third time in the last four seasons he's amassed 80 or more blocks and has seven such seasons in his 12-year career.

Junior dos Santos releases statement on loss to Francis Ngannou - MMA Fighting

Francis Ngannou scored another fast — and devastating — knockout over a former UFC heavyweight champion in 2019, stopping Junior dos Santos in the main event of UFC Minneapolis on Saturday.

Hours after the fastest defeat of his MMA career, “Cigano” released a statement on social media congratulating his opponent and regretting how a “millisecond mistake” cost him the bout.

“Guys, first of all I want to thank everybody for your support. I’m sorry the show was short this time, and without a great result for us. I’ve been on top of this sport and weight class for over a decade, and I plan to be here for a long time still. I love fighting, I love my life, and I’m really grateful for every opportunity I have to grow and evolve.

“The climb is tough and long, as you all know and sometimes — like tonight — months of perfect preparation and strategy are overshadowed by a millisecond mistake. There isn’t much to say now other than to congratulate Francis Ngannou for capitalizing so effectively on my mistake.”

Dos Santos (21-6), who was hoping to earn another shot at the heavyweight championship with a win in Minnesota, now has to “climb” again after having his three-fight winning streak snapped by Ngannou.

Ngannou (14-3), who finished Cain Velasquez in just 26 seconds in February, wants to be the next in line for the winner of Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic for the UFC title. The rematch between Cormier and Miocic is slated for Aug. 17 in Anaheim, California.

Los Angeles Lakers: 5 Reasons they may already have their “Big 3” - Lake Show Life

Los Angeles Lakers

(Photo by Chris Elise/NBAE via Getty Images)

There is a lot of talk of the Lakers trying to sign a third superstar to go along with LeBron James and the incoming Anthony Davis. But is it really necessary for them to have a formidable Big 3?

Free agency is looming, Lakers Nation, and many are hoping that the Lakers sign an established star or superstar like Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker or Jimmy Butler. While doing so and filling out the rest of the team with solid role players would definitely make the Lakers a powerhouse, the desire to do so is overlooking an important fact.

With Anthony Davis set to join LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma, the team may already have their three legit stars.

Granted, Kuzma is not a star yet. But when looking at the history of Big 3s in the NBA, the third guy hasn’t necessarily been a true superstar. Kevin Love, Chris Bosh, James Worthy and Robert Parish certainly weren’t, and Ray Allen probably wasn’t either.

Kuzma is still a very young player and has the potential to grow as a player. As we have seen the last two seasons, Kuzma is not afraid to score. However, rounding out his game will be the next step in his development.

By the way, the word “superstar” is thrown around too loosely in the NBA. There’s only a handful of true superstars in the league at any given time, and even nowadays, that number is less than 10.

How might James, Davis and Kuzma already comprise an intimidating Big 3? Let’s count the ways:

NBA Free Agency, Draft Recap And 2020 Championship Odds - Forbes

The odds were against Toronto winning the 2019 NBA championship, but the Raptors won their first NBA title and were as high as 18-1 during the NBA Eastern Conference finals when trailing the Bucks 2-0. Toronto went on to win four straight games over Milwaukee, and then took down the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals.

Now the Raptors odds of repeating as division and conference champs, and winning another NBA championship in 2020, hinge on NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard's pending status on where he'll play in the 2019-20 season. Free agency opens June 30 at 6pm ET, and according to league sources via ESPN, Leonard and two-time NBA finals MVP Kevin Durant have been discussing scenarios that could include a future with them playing together.

Leonard is expected to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, Knicks and Raptors upon the opening of free agency. Durant is planning conversations with the Clippers, Knicks, Nets and Warriors.

Online sportsbook SportsBetting.ag has odds on where the two stars will end up.

Los Angeles Lakers dominating NBA futures market

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Lakers at +360 to win the 2020 NBA Championship, and Kevin Hennessy of FanDuel's publicity department reported that the LA Lakers had received 27% of all bets in the 2020 NBA Championship market as of June 21 following the trade of Anthony Davis to the Lakers on June 15.

Jeff Sherman, the Vice President of Risk Managament at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, posted the adjusted odds to win the 2020 NBA Championship following the trade of Davis to the LA Lakers.

The Lakers were 5-1 just prior to the trade for Anthony Davis, and 20-1 to win the 2020 championship in May after missing the 2019 playoffs with a 37-45 regular season record. The Warriors opened as the +175 favorite in May, but injuries to Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant derailed the Warriors hopes and Golden State's 2020 championship odds rose to 12-1.

The SuperBook moved LA's 2020 championship odds to +250 on June 27 with the news that the Lakers had cleared enough cap space to sign another max free agent. Now with even more hype surrounding the Lakers and a potential signing of Kawhi Leonard during free agency, Sherman and the SuperBook moved the Lakers championship odds to +120 on June 28, not because of big bets, but to protect itself against the chance that Kawhi joins the Lakers.

“If Kawhi goes there, we’d have what we’ve seen out of the Warriors recently,” Sherman said Saturday. “If that becomes official, the Lakers would be minus (money) to win the title.”

The odds will continue to adjust based on not only player movement, but on the money bet on teams. The Lakers remain most popular, and over-valued in the marketplace.

“It’s almost like a Tiger Woods effect,” Sherman said. “The Lakers’ odds, in conjunction with LeBron, are going to be lower than they really should be based on who’s betting them. They’re always looking to bet the Lakers and they’re always looking to bet on LeBron’s team."

Sherman added that if Leonard remains with the Raptors, Toronto's odds will drop back to 6-1 and be Eastern Conference co-favorites with Milwaukee. "It’s a 24-hour type of thing for the next week.”

Kawhi Leonard will meet with the Lakers and Clippers on July 1-2. He'll get plenty of support and a pitch from LaBron James, who just gifted his No. 23 jersey to Anthony Davis. Still, James has a better chance of leading the league in jersey sales with his new number than the Lakers winning a NBA championship in 2020.

You can bet on it.

The test for this Knicks administration begins now - New York Post

The Knicks’ rhetoric about top players wanting to be here because of a new culture, vibe and an engaging head coach in David Fizdale gets put to the test starting Sunday evening at 6 p.m.

Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Kyrie Irving officially become free agents, and the Knicks have room for two max slots.

Irving already looks like a loss, expected to sign with the Nets without so much as meeting with the Knicks. The landing of Durant is no longer considered the giant bonanza it once was. It’s as much risk as reward after his Achilles tear puts him out next season and he will be 32 when he suits up again. The dream scenario of Durant coming along with another All-Star will have to be Leonard as Irving and Kemba Walker (Boston) are almost certainly off the board.

According to a source, Walker’s family, including his mother, was uninterested in moving back to New York.

The Knicks have appeared to be long shots for Leonard, though ESPN reported Saturday that Durant and Leonard could be open to a union with the Knicks as one of the possible destinations.

If Durant signs, though, it likely will be sans Irving, who is on the verge of signing with the Nets when free agency opens.

Durant will talk via video conference call or meet with reps from the four clubs long in pursuit — the Knicks, Nets, Clippers and Warriors.

Durant refused to meet with the Knicks in 2016, so brass considers its inclusion as a positive development. The Knicks also plan to meet with Leonard in Los Angeles next week.

Golden State still looms as a threat to keep Durant — with the ability to offer an extra $50 million and an additional fifth year, which now may be more enticing to the rehabbing superstar. The Warriors can offer a five-year, $221 million super-max deal compared to the Knicks/Nets/Clippers max options of four years, $164 million — a difference of $57 million.

Former Durant teammate and confidant Kendrick Perkins has fluctuated between believing the Knicks and Nets were favorites, then issued an interesting tweet Friday.

“Brooklyn, New York and the Clippers better have a strong got damn pitch because if I’m KD it’s hard to turn [down] that Super Max with GS!’’ Perkins posted on Twitter.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers reportedly is headed to New York this weekend hoping to meet personally with Durant.

The Knicks have tried to dial back on needing to land the big fish this summer. They have alternative plans for their $72 million of cap space that includes signing second-to-third-tier free agents to one- and two-year deals.

They have interest in point guard Terry Rozier and power forwards Julius Randle and Bobby Portis, a restricted free agent. They have mild interest in center DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year deal.

Durant is within reach, though, and may decide based on other additions. The Knicks were favorites before his Achilles injury. There are so many connections, starting with his agent Rich Kleiman, a New Yorker and longtime Knicks fan.

The buzz at the scouting combine in Chicago in May said Kleiman was in position to grab an important front-office role and become as powerful a decision-maker as GM Scott Perry.

“We’re gonna sell who we are as people and our ability to connect and relate to players, support them and give them the best form to allow them to be their best selves that will ultimately help us win,” Perry told Yahoo Sports.

The Knicks are coming off a 17-65 disaster and have a new theme if they strike out with Leonard, Durant and Irving. They would continue to develop their stock of young players culled from the past three drafts.

“We’re not paying attention to the noise,” Perry said. “We’re gonna continue to be opportunistic and build this the right way.”

Beyond Kleiman, Durant has ties with Knicks assistant coach Royal Ivey.

“[Durant] wants to live in New York,’’ one NBA source said recently.

Durant has recuperated in New York since his surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Durant is a mentor to Allonzo Trier, who played high school basketball in Oklahoma City, and a close friend with DeAndre Jordan, whom the Knicks would like to bring back.

That the Nets have snuck into the KD race is a stunning turn — with Irving’s influence a reason. Brooklyn still gives Durant the chance to live in the city, but it isn’t a legacy move.

Richard Jefferson, who last season became a part-time Nets broadcaster, told The Post during The Finals the Brooklyn tide is rising.

“It’s not anything over the Knicks,’’ Jefferson told The Post. “I just think they’re now included in the conversation with the Knicks, Lakers, Clippers and everybody from things I’ve been hearing. They were one of those outside of those top three. But people are really taking a hard look and see there’s potential there.”

If the Knicks go with second- and third-tier free agents, the mantra will continue to be “patience.’’ In Rozier, the Knicks see an upgrade at point guard. The Knicks have no power forwards on the roster under contract, and Randle is a young bull who has underachieved but has the athletic talent the Knicks crave from their bigs.

New Orleans did not enforce Randle’s option year, leaving the 24-year-old an unrestricted free agent.

“He is a beast, plays hard, but can only get to so far due to how he sees the game,’’ one NBA scout told The Post. “I’m not sure about his basketball IQ and perimeter shooting. And he’s not the most conscientious defender.”

If the KD-Kyrie or Kawhi-KD pairing turns into Rozier-Randle, it won’t be surprising. The Knicks haven’t had much luck these past 18 years.
